Air Cycle Distributor Esquire Environmental Wins Partner of the Year

Chesapeake Bay Program

chesapeake bay program

In the past year, Esquire Environmental's Rod Kincaid has been instrumental in encouraging commercial property management companies in the Mid-Atlantic Region to implement environmental programs, especially in the area of fluorescent lamp recycling. Nationwide, only 26% of all fluorescent lamps are recycled, potentially releasing over 10,000 pounds of mercury vapor to the environment. EPA Region III is working to encourage commercial property management companies to voluntarily commit to fluorescent lamp recycling.

Esquire Environmental has persuaded 5 of the region's top commercial property management companies to make this commitment, representing more than 10 million square feet of space and thousands of fluorescent lamps to be recycled each year. In addition, seventy of these commercial properties have also joined Businesses for the Bay, directly due to the efforts of Esquire Environmental to promote the program. Esquire Environmental Services has been awarded the 2005 Partner of the Year in recognition of the firm's outstanding commitment to promoting pollution prevention and Businesses for the Bay to DC, MD, PA, and VA companies.
